Basic Sizing

The same process that we lead our clients through with every new bike sale. A basic sizing session typically lasts about 30 minutes. Using traditional fitting tools and methods we will determine your appropriate saddle height, find the correct saddle fore and aft adjustment, as well as ensure that your bike is outfitted with the proper stem length and height. Basic sizing is perfect for recreational riders to ensure comfort and efficiency on the bike.

Trek Precision Fit

We’re proud to offer Trek Precision Fit, one of the most technical and thorough bike fitting systems available today. A Precision Fit session at Freewheel typically last 2.5 to 3.5 hours. It begins with a comprehensive interview where we determine your fitting needs and goals. We perform an advanced physical assessment where we analyze your flexibility, strength, and mobility. Once we get you on to the bike, motion capture technology is used to accurately assess your movements and make necessary adjustments.

We recommend that you bring the following items to your Precision Fit session:

  • Bicycle
  • Pedals
  • Shoes
  • Road shorts & jersey (tight fitting apparel is recommend to improve the accuracy of motion capture)
  • Any additional parts you may want to try, such as cleats, stems, saddles, etc.

It is uncommon for bike fit to be perfected in just one session. That’s why our Precision Fit service is backed by a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. We will work with you to ensure that you have the best possible fit for up to 60 days after your initial session. If you are not completely satisfied with your bike fit, we will refund the labour cost.

Notice: We are currently unable to offer saddle pressure mapping services at this time. Unfortunately, we do not have an ETA for starting back up.

Saddle Pressure Mapping

Saddle pressure mapping allows us to assess how you make contact with your bike, and ensure maximum comfort. Your saddle is the largest surface that you have in contact with your bicycle while riding, and pressure on your saddle is affected by all other areas of bike fit. That means adjustments made at the handlebar or pedals will change your relationship to your saddle. By using specialized tools, we can quantify how all factors of your fit are affecting saddle pressure, and make evidence based decisions on how to optimize your fit

If the Shoe Fits

For maximum power transfer on the road or trail and for exceptional comfort on a spin bike, we recommend clipless cycling shoes and pedals. With stiffer soles and the ability to click into and out of your pedal system easily, cycling shoes make your ride and your workout more efficient, more effective, and more comfortable. Never get stuck in a toe cage again!
