Orkney Rd. is still lumpy and irregular and Crook's Hollow Rd. is littered with small potholes. The best surface was Harvest Rd. running from Ofield Rd. in Greensville to Sydenham. A nice tour of Rock Chapel Rd. followed by a descent on Valley Rd. finished off the ride and we were back into the wind on the return to Dundas on Olympic Drive.

Like the rest of our rides, this is still a social ride so don't let my description intimidate you too much. Just don't expect a leisurely (boring!) cruise down the Rail Trail. We fully recognize that many keen local riders are not just women, but moms too. This is a gender neutral ride.

Providing that your riding partner (the "Stoker")is big enough to properly fit on a quality (not department store!) Trail-a-Bike, then make sure that they are attired properly. As the ride will be 1-2 hours long (with regular rest stops), we strongly recommend a pair of kiddy sized padded bike shorts, cycling gloves, and a little Camelbak to keep 'em hydrated. We also suggest using small adult MTB arm pad armor as knee/shin pads on your child. A sense of adventure comes in pretty handy too! Note that Freewheel has a rental Trail-a-Bike we can offer to a new crew that isn't prepared to purchase one without trying it out.
