Did You Know Freewheel is Open Late ALL YEAR Round?

freewheel-storefront-evening

We would like to remind you all that Freewheel is open late every weeknight, and open Sundays all year round. Even in the off-season our doors are open until 8pm, Monday through Friday. Whilst other shops severely reduce their winter hours, we understand that most of you lead busy 9-6 weekday work lives. This makes it challenging to find time during your busy workday to visit your local bike shop. Not Freewheel! We’re here when it’s convenient for you!

Additionally, any time our doors are open we have a certified mechanic on hand to address your service questions and needs. Whether its repairing the aftermath of your last crash or performing a tune-up, we’ll get your bike working like new. Better yet we’ll do so within 48 hours if all the necessary parts are on hand.

PS Just a friendly reminder that we’re entering daylight savings time this weekend, so don’t forget to change your clocks!

Trek Bicycles’ Women’s Mountain Bike Advocate Program

trek-bicycle-womens-mtb-advocate-program-mari-evans-2

Freewheel would like to congratulate our resident women’s offroad cycling advocate and instructor extraordinaire, Mari Evans, for being selected for Trek’s new international Women’s Advocate Program. The women’s cycling community continues to grow everyday thanks to advocacy and coaching from riders like Mari. The Trek Women’s Advocate Program aims to grow women’s offroad cycling and further build the relationship between shops and riders through organizing rides, women’s cycling events, and clinics throughout North America. Trek Women’s Advocates will be stimulating relevant discussion on social media to spread the word about how awesome more women riding mountain bikes can be.

Avid women mountain bikers from all over North America applied to participate in Trek’s advocacy program, and of the 250 applicants, 55 were chosen for their exceptional involvement in their local cycling community, as well as their strong leadership and infectiously positive personalities. Local off-road riders who have met and ridden with Mari over the past 15 years know she is well qualified for this expanded cycling advocacy role. Many of you met her through our very own Women’s Learn-to-MTB Weekend events.

As part of the program, Mari has been invited to Trek headquarters in Waterloo, WI to experience the culture that has made Trek the company that it is today. We think she’ll fit in perfectly! Freewheel Cycle and Trek are both excited to see the Trek Women’s Advocate Program in action. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for news about upcoming women’s social rides, events and clinics.
